Undoing mistakes

Hello

When using the SMART board,  if I wish to remove a word that I have joined with another, accidentally, I cannot 'undo' that join. I have the same problem when I have repeated a phrase and wish to remove it - I can't - instead it seems to multiply! There must be a solution - please help!
